It would be hard to pick one category or genre to define the kind of music you will find here at Blue Monsoon Music.

When people find out I am a musician, they naturally ask what kind of music I play. My usual tongue in cheek response is... Heavy Mental.

Seriously though (and that's a big stretch for me), Blue Monsoon Music is not one particular musical style or genre.

There are many forms encompassed within the music available here... Pop, Rock, Blues, R'nB, Jazz, Folk, and yes, even Country. Beyond that, there are world music influences that also factor in to the mix (literally).

In fact, part of the essence of Blue Monsoon Music is that each of these separate styles is approached in fresh and original ways, often blending several styles together for new hybrids that transcend existing labels, (that none of us music lovers really care much about anyway).

If it sounds great, and you like it, what else matters?

Blue Monsoon Music can't be identified by a set of parameters that define it's sound, because there isn't one particular sound. Rather it is the musical embodiment of certain basic artistic principles, the combination of which produce the magical musical results.

We like to call the people who create such art... Mugicians!

It is music that has artistic depth and a level of musicianship that is typically above the average. Where there's as much interest generated instrumentally as there is with the lyrics and vocals.

And lyrically speaking (no pun intended), the songs artfully deal with issues related to life, the heart, the soul and spirituality. Absolutely not religious or preachy or anything remotely like that, but definitely thought provoking, intellectually stimulating and spiritually uplifting (maybe even enlightening).

The core of any good music is always the song. The melody and lyrics are the seeds and the arrangement, performances and production are the fruits and flowers that manifest the innate beauty of the seeds.

Each song is a musical adventure and you can take the journey repeatedly with a fresh enlivening experience each time.
